A Note About Me...

I am a life-long Topekan.
As a kid, I always had a
knack for writing and the
arts. This led me to
pursue a Journalism
degree from the University
of Kansas.

After graduating in 1992, I
worked for ad agencies, a
mental health hospital,
and state government in
communications and
marketing positions. I
have experience in retail,
health care, social
service, labor, finance,
food service, and tourism
marketing.
I eventually grew bored working in a "beige cube" and longed to
work for myself and for people who appreciated my creativity. The
"golden handcuffs" kept me in a traditional job for a few more
years. During that time, I took on a few freelance clients and had
some success. In 2006 I realized that life is way too short to not live
my dream of working for myself. I broke out of the "beige cube"
and have not looked back.

Owning my own business is truly a roller coaster ride --- thrilling,
exciting and exhausting! The best part is meeting so many
wonderful people who are excited about marketing their
businesses.

I have also co-owned a retail meat and deli shop, as well as
operated a home-based jewelry business in the past. So, I do have
other retail and small business experiences to draw upon when
working with clients.

I am a member of the following groups:
  • Topeka Chamber of Commerce
  • Sales & Marketing Executives
  • American Business Women's Association KEEN Chapter

I also write articles for Topeka Magazine and review books for
Fresh Fiction.
