"What exactly do you do for your clients?"

Anything to do with brainstorming marketing strategies, writing,
editing, proofreading, and layout and design of printed and
electronic communication pieces. Recent client projects have
included:

  • Small business coaching on image creation, branding,
    and marketing strategies
  • Creation of business stationary packages including logos,
    business cards, letterhead, envelopes, and
    correspondence cards
  • Brochure copy writing and design
  • Ad development for publications
  • Website creation and coordination
  • Editing and layout of reports
  • Copy writing and layout of newsletters
  • Special event planning

"How much is this gonna cost me?"

I charge per hour, by the project, or am willing to negotiate a
monthly retainer depending on the project.

My basic rate is $65 per hour for research time, writing, editing,
proofreading, design/layout, print coordination, and special
event planning. Initial consultation is always no-charge.

"What are your payment terms?"

I require a deposit at the start of each project and then bill for
time and expenses accrued to-date at the end of each month or
upon completion of the project, whichever comes first. Payment
is due within 15 days. After 30 days, late charges will accrue.
Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted.

"Your business image is kind of 'girlie.' Do
you only do work for women?"

Nope! My creative work is versatile. Half of my clients are men. I
have worked on projects for a range of clients including
attorneys, architects, mental health therapists, interior
designers, business consultants, retail stores, an electrician, a
Realtor, social service agencies, and governmental associations.

"Why did you pick a pen with hot pink polka
dots and a lady's head for a logo?"

My personal style is casual, artistic and whimsical --- yet
professional. I wanted to capture that feeling in my logo. I put a
lot of myself into projects and want clients to know upfront who I
am. I also believe in branding yourself or your business with a
strong, memorable image. When I started my business, I had
some people tell me I would alienate certain professions with my
business image....just the opposite has happened. Instead, my
business image has stood out, been remembered, and has
helped me show potential clients that I can help create a strong
brand for their businesses too....with or without pink polka dots!

Oh yeah....hot pink has always been my favorite color. I have
also had a pen fetish since age 6 when my parents gave me an
old school desk painted Pepto-Bismol pink filled with office
supplies for my birthday! It was the best gift ever!
